Christine Ryan

Oil Paintings

Christne Ryan is the Featured Artist at Gallery One for the months of November and December. Opening Reception will be held from 2-5pm on Nov. 29th at Gallery One.

Christine A. Ryan, a New England native, has been photographing quintessential New England for the last twenty four years. In the Spring of 2004, while visiting a childhood friend, Christine discovered her love of painting. A photograph can capture the image of a moment but not the feeling, Christine conveys that feeling on canvas.

Studying under the tutelage of Sally Grigas, Christine has developed a passion for oil paint but is always experimenting with new mediums. Not to be placed in a box as an artist, Christine paints whatever inspires her. Recent trips to Paris and Niagara Falls have generated a wonderful new array of material for Christine to work with.

As an artist with disabilities, Suzanne Duhamel of Nashua has come out a winner by overcoming many hurdles to create bold surrealistic art. Suzanne is driven by the inner desire to express and find emotional and inner healing through her art work. Telegraph Staff Writer, Dean Shalhoup says... "Put a regular, everyday Papermate fine-point in the hands of Nashua artist Suzanne Duhamel, and suddenly they're magical conveyors of astoundingly complicated, sometimes dark, insight just waiting to burst free from deep within Duhamel's they're magical conveyors of astoundingly complicated, sometimes dark, insight just waiting to burst free from deep within Duhamel's heart and soul. "What a beautiful description of her extraordinary work" says Janis Cosby, at Gallery One, who notes that people are also finding Suzanne's art work to be highly collectible. Surrealism seeks to express the subconscious mind by depicting objects and events as seen in dreams. As expressed by Suzanne, "I have been drawing and painting all of my life and without my art I would be lost, due to chronic pain due to an accident... My art helps keep me going, keeps my mind alert and delivers a great coping mechanism!" Another aspect of Suzanne's unique vision is that the sun motif needs always to be present in her art work, as it symbolizes the joy it brings into her life. Suzanne's work is on display at Gallery One through November 9, 2008 and is a worthy adventure into the Arts.

Loretta CR Hubley

Oil Paintings

Poised on the edge of fantasy and reality, Lorettas paintings and hand-made prints evoke memories and magic. Loretta designs in a style that blends the traditions of the West and East, creating themes of change and beauty that murmur to our imagination. A professor, painter, and printmaker, Loretta continues to experiment in textural techniques, using melodic color to create day dreams for our appreciation.

After many years of trying many mediums, she discovered an affinity for photography and has been taking pictures for almost 12 years. Her main focus is the southwest landscape, but finds her local roots often as interesting.
